Outline History of CFP  
1962 COLD FORMED PRODUCTS established to utilize the impact extrusion process for the production of high integrity engineering components using high strength alloys. First year's turnover: £5,000.

 
1975 CFP establishes Formalloy Limited to produce aluminium tubes for Electrolux vacuum cleaners.
 
1976 Achieved Ministry of Defence Def.Stan 05-24 quality standard, underpinning extensive business in the defence market.
 
1977 CFP designs and builds own in-house programmable microprocessor-based machine controller system enabling the speedy build of flexible, reliable production machines thus giving the company an edge against the competition.
 
1979 CFP moves from Leyton to Plaistow providing a five-fold increase in operation area to 10,000 sq.feet.
 
1981 First direct export sales to Alpan Kibris, Turkey.

 
1982 CFP gains approval from major aircraft manufacturers such as Vickers, McDonnell Douglas, Saab, Boeing and British Aerospace for fine bore tubing used in complex heat exchanger systems.
1988 Achieved £1M turnover.
 
1993 Achieved £2M turnover.
 
1995 CFP opens Beckton site doubling organization size to 20,000 sq. feet.
 
1995 Achieved £1M direct export turnover.  
1995 CFP becomes British Aerospace's No.1 collaborative supplier in the UK of impact extrusions.
 
1997 Achieved BS EN ISO 9002 quality status, opening up a huge market potential.

1997 Achieved Grade A rating for QS9000 standard audit carried out by Continental Teves (Germany).
 
1997 Gained approved supplier status to Continental Teves for the supply of brake pistons for ABS systems supplied to top vehicle manufacturers such as Mercedes Benz.
1999 Introduced Team Meetings, Quality Circles, Kaizen and 7MMTs.
 
2001 £3.2M sales turnover achieved including £1.35M direct export sales.
