## Process

The cold forming process involves placing an aluminium slug into the die of a press and striking it with a punch. The resulting pressure causes the slug to fill the die and take the required shape. Forward extrusion, backward extrusion and forging can be combined in a single pressing operation to produce highly complex parts. CFP have developed tooling techniques considered unique in the industry. In-house tooling design and manufacture, combined with decades of experience, enable consistent holding of dimensions within narrow tolerance bands over large production runs.
